Buildings at present derelict with exception of library. Early decision necessary regarding selection of new site or rebuilding on old sitē. Consider impossible to start first year's medical course before October, 1946, and then only if equipment and staff available. Laboratory equipment entirely destroyed. Professor Faid, Physics, Propensor Byrne, Chemistry, both dead, Hill, Chemistry, dead, Herklots, Biology, seconded to Government; Davis, Physics, in C.A. but willing to return. Some Chinese staff available. Eligibility of students depends on early resumption of matriculation examination.
